Your first linked number in a few minutes.

Seven steps from installing the add-in to clicking a cell and landing on its source. Nothing to configure, no new window to learn.

  4. 4Open a document
  5. 5Mark the source
  6. 6Paste the link
  7. 7Click & check
  1. Install the add-in

DocuPulse is an official Office add-in, so it installs from inside Excel.

    1. In Excel, go to Home → Add-ins.
    2. Search for Docupulse.
    3. Click Add.

Company IT manages add-ins centrally? Your admin can deploy DocuPulse to the whole team — or book a live installation via screen share.

  2. Open DocuPulse

On the Home tab you’ll now find the Docupulse button on the far right of the ribbon. Click it and DocuPulse opens as a pane next to your sheet.

The pane stays open while you work — you can resize it or close it any time.

  3. Sign in

Use your DocuPulse account. There are two ways:

    • E-mail and password directly in the pane.
    • Sign in with your browser: DocuPulse opens a sign-in page, shows you a short code, and you type that code into the pane.

  4. Pick a workspace and open a document

Choose your workspace at the top of the pane. The file explorer shows every document in it — from connected storage such as SharePoint, Google Drive or Dropbox, or files you drag and drop into the pane.

Click a PDF or Word file and it opens in the DocuPulse viewer, right inside Excel.

  5. Draw a box around the source

In the viewer, draw a box around exactly what backs up your number — a clause, a table row, a single figure. Then click Save.

The box is stored with the document, so it points to that exact spot — not just to the file or the page.

  6. Copy the link into your sheet

After saving, DocuPulse shows the link for this box. Click the copy icon, select the cell next to your number and paste with Ctrl + V (⌘ + V on a Mac).

Tip: give every table a Source column. The numbers stay clean, and reviewers see at a glance which figures are backed up.

  7. Click the cell — see the source

Select any cell that holds a DocuPulse link and the viewer jumps straight to the right page, with the passage highlighted. That’s it.

It works the same for your colleagues and reviewers: anyone with access to the workspace opens the workbook, clicks the cell and sees the proof — in Excel desktop or in the browser.
